At a local venue, aspiring musician Paulie hopes an opening act will jumpstart his career. His plans are derailed when he meets Champ, a terminally ill punk star in his 70s, who sabotages Paulie’s slot in the gig. As Paulie bitterly works the bar while Champ performs, a kitchen porter Tim urges Paulie to ruin what could be the aging star’s last show.
